TIRANA, Dec. 12 – A Tirana court sentenced Demir Lika, former head of the Golem commune, to four years imprisonment and a fine of two million leks for passive corruption and abuse of post. Lika was arrested earlier this year while he was taking some money. Together with him Arben Golemi, a former official of the ministry of culture, was arrested for helping him mediate in the illegal transaction. But Lika accepted the criminal act, from which he profited a one-third cut of the sentence of six years imprisonment and three million leks fine. Golemi is waiting for the trial to start.
