TIRANA, Nov. 8 – Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama is expected to appoint former Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic and Branko Grcic, former deputy prime minister and close associate of Milanovic as his advisors on the country’s EU integration process.
Croatia’s Vecernji.hr news outlet published a news story this week, noting Milanovic and Grcic will become consultants of Prime Minister Rama in regards to the EU membership talks.
Croatian officials visited Tirana in October and they held meetings with Prime Minister Rama and other politicians.
According to the Croatian media, the former Prime Minister Milanovic has led the EU integration process for Croatia, and as such Albanian authorities are keen to get advice in relation to the EU integration process.
“Given the fact that in Albania next year will be held parliamentary elections and Albania has the status of candidate country for membership in the European Union, but has not yet opened negotiations, the experience of Milanovic as prime minister of an EU member, certainly, is not to be dismissed,” the Croatian media reported.
According to these reports, Albanian and Croatian authorities have already reached an agreement and former Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic is interested for pursue his career as consultant in the near future.
