GRAND BLANC, US, July 16 – A community gathered Saturday to help a local Albanian teenager in the wake of tragedy.
Last month, 16 year-old Pellumb Kurtaga’s life was turned upside down when his father, 46-year-old Ali, killed his mother and then turned himself in to police.
Following the event, Kurtaga who attended Grand Blanc High School, was told he would have to move back to Albania to live with family if arrangements could not be made for him in the States.
In response, friends, along with local businesses and even a few college basketball players, gathered to raise money ($3,000) by throwing a car wash and volleyball tournament to keep the teen in the U.S.
