Gerdec explosion area cleaned, says the army

TIRANA, April 2 – The Interior Ministry reported Wednesday that the area, not including the crater, affected by the March 15 explosion in Gerdec has been decontaminated and is safe for public use.
A smaller group of army engineering officers continue to clean the crater, which has been closed off since the explosion.
The Albanian armed forces are being assisted by 24 Danish experts and 13 from Kosova.
The March 15 explosion killed at least 25 persons and injured more than 300.
Army troops are combing the area for a still missing person. (Tirana Times Staff)
