TIRANA, Aug. 5 – The Albanian government passed a master plan for the Dajti commune to try to create a better environment in the mountain resort. Prime Minister Sali Berisha said that such a decision would oblige all the communes in the area to follow and respect laws and to not spoil the beautiful nature there. In addition, a green area “crown” will be created around Tirana.
The government also approved a regulatory plan for Tirana to turn an old airport area into a green area, aiming at bringing more green areas to the capital.
It also dealt with a new complex for the Albanian parliament, which the central government said was being blocked by Tirana Mayor Edi Rama, also leader of the opposition Socialists. The new parliament complex is supposed to be offered under international tender.
