Greek police offers help ahead of visa liberalization

KORCA, Nov. 30 – Greek police officials visited the southeastern city of Korca to talk to their Albanian counterparts and offer their experience on border management ahead of the visa liberalization which is expected in mid-December.
Top Albanian police officials from Tirana and also southern districts took part at the meeting with top Greek policeman from neighboring Thessaloniki Gen. Constantinos Kasapakis as well as other officials from Ioannina, Kozan, Folorina and Thesprotia.
They talked about joint measures they will take to facilitate the move of the Albanian population after the visa liberalization.
They agreed to compile special border management plans in line with the Schengen rules. They also decided to increase the number of passport checking terminals at crossing points to cope with the increased influx ahead of the yearend festivities.
