TIRANA, March 23 – Health Minister Petrit Vasili was injured at a road car accident Tuesday. Six more persons, including three in his car, were also injured but all not in life threatening conditions.
Vasili’s Mercedes car and a minivan with Kosovo number plates hit each other in Elbasan district Tuesday.
Besides Vasili, his cabinet chief and a top department head together with the driver were injured. Three other persons in the minivan were also injured.
Vasili and the other officials were transported with helicopter at the Tirana military hospital. It was later learnt that Vasili had all the medical checks at a nearby private hospital, sparking a loud cry from the local media on why the country’s health minister did not trust the public hospitals for his own health care.
