KAVAJA, March 24 – Three villages in the Kavaja district were threatened from a flooding caused from the destruction of a reservoir dam.
Some 580 residents in the area were evacuated because of the risk from the artificial water reservoir.
If the dam would have broken it would have flooded the whole area beneath and endangered the lives of those residents as it had some 1.2 million m3 of water.
Recent heavy rains had started to damage the dam that was slightly broken in one place, something that obviously urged local residents to ask for assistance from the authorities.
