TIRANA, Oct. 25 – The State Supreme Audit Control (KLSh), the most authoritative government auditing structure, reported financial losses after diagnosing economic abuses from tax collecting authorities and customs offices. The customs office of Kakavia cost the government 113 million leks for 2004-2005. Another problematic office was the Tax Collection authority in Fier, with an abuse of 1.6 billion leks. KLSh spokesman Edvin Morava said compensation would be requested form the governmental offices and that penal claims would be put forth for many of the officers who were believed to be responsible.
