KORCA, May 31 – Police in this southeastern city have intensified the work to stop illegal border crossing into neighboring Greece
Police last week accused Vangjush Ciko, 26, of trying to cross the border illegally. He didn’t respond to police calls and tried to cross into Greece with his car breaking the crossing point in high speed.
In another case on Sunday police arrested five persons of trying to help other people or efforts to cross illegally the border in exchange for money.
Mondi Hoxhallari, 28, a resident in Pogradec district, was found helping four persons cross the border.
In a separate case Greek police conducted an operation in the neighboring area across the border with Albania bringing back home some 90 illegal immigrants.
They also found a certain amount of cannabis sativa.
