McALLEN, Texas – A 21-year-old illegal immigrant from Albania died when the sport utility vehicle he was riding in rolled over following a 10-mile police chase. Eleven others were injured in the crash, including four Hondurans, four Albanians and three Salvadorans, said Department of Public Safety spokesman Robert Vasquez. The dead immigrant wasn’t identified. The chase began when police tried to pull over the SUV for speeding. The driver escaped on foot after the crash, police said. The injured passengers were taken to area hospitals, Vasquez said, but all were in stable condition or better. They were expected to be deported.
