TIRANA, April 7 – Police have arrested a number of persons who have been previously sentenced to prison terms or have been wanted on criminal charges.
Agim Borici, 36, was arrested after being sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for a murder in 1994, another in 1998 and other crimes. He is also a suspect of committing crimes in Fier.
Sabri Sallaku, 42, was arrested in Tirana for assisting Borici.
A Greek citizen named Georges Papalakis was arrested at the Kakavie border crossing after some four kilograms of marijuana was found in his car.
Another Kazakh citizen, a resident of Athens, was also arrested Monday in Kakavie after being found with some seven kilograms of what was believed to be heroin.
An Albania was also arrested in Kakavie after more than one kilogram of cannabis sativa was found on the bus he was traveling in.
