TIRANA, April 25 – A three-day trade fair bringing together dozens of companies operating in the transport, infrastructure and energy sectors was held last weekend in Tirana at the Palace of Congresses. The “Albanian Dynamics Fair” organized by the Tirana Chamber of Commerce and Industry brought on display for three consecutive days from April 21 to 23 innovative products and technology offered by SMEs and big companies operating in Albania especially in transport and infrastructure.
Speaking during a visit to the trade fair, Economy Minister Nasip Naco said the event was a sign of concrete confidence by foreign investors in the Albanian government. Praising reforms to improve business climate, Naco said that Albania was becoming more and more competitive in the region.
Meanwhile, Nikolin Jaka, the chairman of the Tirana Chamber of Commerce called on businesses to distance themselves from the political rhetoric and consider Albania as a safe destination for their companies.
The “Albanian Dynamics Fair” came few days after another regional fair bringing together Albanian and foreign entrepreneurs in construction and transport development and the Turkish products fair, all held at the Palace of Congresses in Tirana.
Latest data show foreign direct investment, one of the main sources of Albania’s economic growth representing around 8 percent of the GDP, registered a record 837 million euros in 2010, the highest level during the past seven years. Since mid-2010 foreign investors are also being granted special state legal protection on their investments even in case of the possible land disputes.
