International operation against organized crime nets 40, two arrested in Albania

TIRANA, March 10 – As part of a large international law enforcement operation, Albanian police said they have arrested two people suspected of being part of an international crime syndicate dealing in prostitution.

A police statement only identified those arrested as A.Q., 51, and G.D., 48, as part of an ongoing investigation.

In total, police in several countries arrested 40 people in the operation codenamed Alba Nostra 2, held in several cities in Italy, Germany, Belgium, Romania and Albania.

The two arrested Albanians were declared at large from Italy a court in Pavia had issued an international arrest warrant as they were considered as part of a criminal organization that managed prostitution operations in Italy.
