Islam Lauka to be ambassador to Prishtina

TIRANA, Jan 12 – Islam Lauka is to become the Albanian ambassador to Prishtina, Kosova.
The nomination with his name was sent to the president from Prime Minister Sali Berisha. President Bamir Topi is expected to approve his nomination.
Berisha said, two days after Kosova declared independence on Feb. 17 2008, that Lauka would become the country’s ambassador. But the process had been delayed.
Lauka graduated after studying history and philology for Russian language. He has worked as a diplomat at the Foreign Ministry and in Moscow from 1991-1995. He is also the author of a number of books on Kosova.
