Italian diplomat Sequi to head EC office in Tirana

TIRANA, Sep. 15 – Italian Ambassador Ettore Sequi will be the new head of the European Commission Delegation Office in Tirana. He replaces outgoing Ambassador Helmuth Lohan.
The nomination was announced by the EU Foreign Commissioner Catherine Ashton.
Sequi, 54, served in Albania as deputy Italian Ambassador from 2000 to 2004.
After that he has had different diplomatic posts like ambassador in Afghanistan, and recently as EU special envoy there.
