TIRANA, May 18 – Authorities announced they had revoked the license of 23 fuel distribution companies due to lack of complying with the required standards, minimal capacities and technical conditions.
The revocation is part of on ongoing government crackdown on companies that lower the quality of fuel in the country, serving as middlemen between the fuel stations and wholesale companies importing fuel.
Albanian drivers often complain of the low quality fuel in the country, which damages their vehicles.
In a previous enforcement case, authorities found companies had been diluting fuel with industrial chemicals.
