DURRES, Jan. 20 – Durr쳠Police arrested Shpresa Mirdita, 37, an employee of the civil registry office in the Ish쭠commune.
Following a lengthy investigation carried out by the Investigation Police of Financial and Economic Crimes, Mirdita was accused of issuing false birth certificates using stamps of the Foreign Ministry to forge the birth certificate.
Five people who are beleived to have used the forged birth certificates issued by Mirdita also face criminal charges.
More than 30 officials have been arrested in the last year on corruption charges.
