Marseglia subsidiary wins project to built Albanian power link with Italy

TIRANA, Jan 21ؔhe Albanian government has approved construction of a power link with Italy to boost electricity transmission lines, awarding the project to Biopower Green Energy shpk, part of Italy’s Marseglia Group.
The company will build an interconnection link between Kallmet/Lezhe in northern Albania and Zapponeta/Manfredonia in the neighbouring country in a 600-million-euro investment.
It will also build a 140MW plant powered by liquid biomass of about 150 million euros, and two 234MW wind farms for about 250 million euros, the government said in a statement.
Marseglia is a leader in manufacturing and marketing vegetable oils. Since 2000, the company has operated in energy production, which totaled 1600 million kW in 2009.
