OHRID, Macedonia, April 20 – President Alfred Moisiu was together with Balkan leaders at a summit in Ohrid, Macedonia Saturday to discuss on more investment in the energy sector as a way of reducing foreign dependency, speeding economic growth and drawing closer to European institutions. Kosova was another main topic of interest in the summit.

During the meeting Moisiu met with all participants. As expected in the meeting with Serb President Boris Tadic they discussed on Kosova. Moisiu said that their bilateral ties were undoubtelfy affected by the unresolved issue of Kosova. Both leaders expressed their opposing views on its status and solution. Moisiu said that Kosova status solution would be a guarantee of peace and stability in the region. Moisiu said the Balkans should leave the past behind and look forward. “Kosova is a unique case and the delay of its status would be dangerous and not understandable,” said Moisiu also expressing his support for Martti Ahtisaari’s porposal. Tadic said that Ahtisaari’s proposal gave more rights to Albanians and less to Serb community in Kosova. “Whatever the solution for Kosova is that will be in a peaceful way,” said Tadic.
