TIRANA, Sep 1 – Energy Minister Genc Ruli reported last week that the country had produced 29 percent more electricity during the first seven months this year compared to last year, from 1.782 GWh to 2.3 GWH.
But still Albanians suffer almost daily power cuts which are justified with the rehabilitation work done at the substations.
But the power losses in the network continue to remain very high while the collection of the consumers’ money very low.
The government has also signed 27 concessionary contracts with private companies to produce a total of 125 MWh in small hydropower stations.
