TIRANA, Dec. 3 – On Sunday in Brussels, Belgium, Foreign Minister Besnik Mustafaj met with his counterparts from Croatia and Macedonia, the U.S. Assistant State Secretary Daniel Fried, and NATO senior official Robert Simons of the Partnership Conference of the Adriatic 3 Charter. Fried evaluated highly the cooperation of the three countries and the achievements of each country en route to getting full NATO membership in 2008. Kosova was one of the main topics of discussion, according to the ministry. Both Fried and Simons said that Kosova cannot be left in its current situation and assured their further assistance in its security in the future. Mustafaj said that the cooperation of the three countries in the fight against terrorism and their participation in international missions showed their will for NATO membership well. The three countries have signed the Adriatic 3 Charter, a U.S.-backed initiative outlining a common military strategy and promoting regional cooperation.
