National conference addresses accounting standards

TIRANA, Dec. 6- The national Council of Accountants and the finance Ministry co-organized on Wednesday a national conference entitled “National Standards of Accounting- a new and qualitative step.” Finance Minister Ridvan Bode, Economy Minister Genc Ruli and the Supreme State Audit director Robert Ceku addressed the conference congratulating the initiative that aims at promoting transparency and accountability standards for the business community. Te new national standards will be implemented on January 1, 2008 and will aim at fighting informal economy. Participants included accountants, auditors, bank employees, tax authorities, financial experts, customs office representatives, insurance company employees and other related interested parties.
