TIRANA, Nov. 27 – Monday, Fraser Wilson, MBE presented his credentials as British Ambassador to Albania to President Alfred Moisiu. Following the formal presentation of credentials, the Ambassador and President Moisiu discussed a range of issues, including the strong bilateral relationship between Albania and the United Kingdom. Wilson is married with two sons, and has previously served overseas in a number of British Missions, including as Deputy Consul General in Sao Paulo, Ambassador to Turkmenistan and, most recently, as High Commissioner to Seychelles. Wilson has also held a number of positions in London in the Western European Department, Eastern Department, the Diplomatic Service Overseas Inspectorate and the Overseas Territories Department. Wilson succeeds Richard Jones, who will take up a new posting as Consul General in Basra, Iraq in the New Year. Jones served as British Ambassador in Albania from October 2003 to November 2006. Fraser Wilson is the fifth Resident British Ambassador in Albania since diplomatic relations between Albania and the UK were restored.
