TIRANA, Sep. 12 – The new school year started this Monday for some 650,000 students from the elementary to the high school levels all around the country. There were about 40,000-50,000 new pupils starting the school at the first grade. Authorities have tried to improve the infrastructure of schools, though much remains to be done. More schools need to be built in order to reduce the currently large number of students per class. Also, many buildings are not in good condition or they lack furniture, proper health conditions and so on. This new school year has also seen a significant growth in the number of institutions in the private school system.
