TIRANA, July 20 – Spain’s new resident ambassador to Albania, Vicente Canelles Montero, has presented his credentials to President Bujar Nishani, the president’s press office said in a statement.

Ambassador Canelles Montero is a career diplomat who has served in Spanish diplomatic missions around the world. He is also a lawyer by education.

Born in Melilla in 1951, Canelles Montero has served as a diplomat since 1980, assigned to Spanish missions in Libya, Turkey, Japan and Mexico. He has also been an adviser to the Secretary General of the Congress of Deputies and has served as deputy ambassador to Rome, according to the Spanish foreign ministry website.
