Norway deports 46 Albanians, Kosovars

OSLO, Dec. 5 – Forty six illegal immigrants in Norway were deported last week by plane to Kosovo and Albania.
Their deportation is a follow-up of the Oslo Police District’s action against persons who have been working illegally with false identity papers, said Immigration Police.
“It is important to stop criminal acts by arresting and quickly deporting people who are here under false identities and working illegally,” said Ingrid Wirum, chief of Police Immigration Unit (PU).
PU was last week at a number of different addresses all over southern Norway. They were asylum seekers who had been rejected but who had not left Norway before the deadline.
Albania has signed repatriation agreements with all European Union member countries, in an obligatory step before enjoying the visa liberalization likely later this month.
