OHRID, Dec 20 – A regional seminar in Ohrid discussed an initiative to form and support the first regional parliamentary green lobby group, which would include Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria and Serbia.
Some 70 representatives of Macedonia and Albania, as well lawmakers from the parliaments of the both countries, take part in the seminar. Montenegro has expressed willingness to join the group as well.
The aim is to form a group that will draft joint projects to attract EU funds in the area of environment preservation, sustainable urban development and infrastructure projects for healthy environment.
It is expected that a platform will be signed in June 2009 in Ohrid to set up the regional parliamentary green lobby group, which will include NGOs from Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria and Serbia.
