TIRANA, June 13 – Starting this week, people crossing the border between Kosovo and Albania in V쳭ica will have just one inspection stop.
This is based on an agreement signed recently by the Albanian and Kosovo Interior Ministers, Bujar Nishani and Bajram Rexhepi, respectively– a move that might also require further approval from both countries’ leaders, Albanian PM Sali Berisha and Kosovo’s Hashim Thaci.
The move is aimed at avoiding long queues of people crossing the border, especially in summer’s tourist season when Kosovars are considered the main source of tourists in Albania. Many also use the newly-built road also to cross into Montenegro.
