TIRANA, Oct. 3 – The parliamentary commission on trade and environment passed Tuesday a draft law on the creation of a railway network of high performance in southeast Europe. The deal will open the way to promoting strategies for links with other countries for human and goods traffic. Albania has no link to other countries than that of Montenegro which is often interrupted due to poor quality of the railway. Including the country’s railway system with that of the Corridor 8 countries like Macedonia and Bulgaria would be a great promotion for the businesses and for the country’s economy. The deal was signed from the transport ministers of regional countries in a meeting they held in May 4 in Thessaloniki, Greece in the context of the cooperation of the southeast European countries.
