TIRANA, Oct 8 – Poland became the fifth country to ratify Albania’s membership protocol with NATO, a move required to be completed by the 26 member countries before Albania and Croatia get the full membership, likely next year.
Albania and Croatia received the NATO membership invitation at its last summit in Bucharest, Romania in April.
In July the two countries signed the membership protocol with the alliance.
They hope to get the membership at its next summit in April 2009.
