TIRANA, July 5 – Police have increased their operations against alleged drug offenders with a considerable number of arrests across Albania.
Last week, Tirana police arrested four persons for drug trafficking. A fifth person was under home arrest.
In five separate cases which were related to each other, since the start of the year, police have arrested 18 persons and seized some 600 kilograms of cannabis sativa.
In another case, police arrested a 44-year old person in the southern city of Gjirokastra after finding he had cultivated cannabis sativa at the notorious Lazarat commune.
