Police continue fight against drug trafficking

TIRANA, Aug 17 – Police continue to make arrests of people trying to traffik drugs in or out of the country.
A 21 year old man was arrested when he was found with 210 grams of cannabis sativa which he was transporting near the capital Tirana.
In another operation police seized half a kilo of cocaine and arrested two persons transporting it from Shijak to the capital Tirana. Their arrest followed a two-month investigation when they were seen to have contacted some other persons in Tirana considered as suspects of cocaine trafficking.
The market value of the cocaine was at 80,000 Euros.
Following some weeks of investigation police in the southeastern Devoll district arrested a 25 year old man after he had tried to take 5.2 kilograms of cannabis sativa across the border to neighboring Greece together with another person.
