TIRANA, June 22 – Police reported they had stopped 21 undocumented third-country migrants who were trying to cross to Montenegro as part of efforts to reach wealthy western European countries.
Albania has become a transit route for desperate migrants trying to escape the conflicts in the Middle East to get asylum in northwestern Europe.
The group of immigrants was found in a truck in the Tirana-Shkoder national road.
Police arrested the truck driver and is investigating of a possible network of transport of migrants.
