TIRANA, Dec. 27 – Police have undertaken a series of measures in a general plan trying to prevent criminal acts and also secure public order during the festivities of the New Year. A major work will be securing normal driving in the roads, especially the Tirana streets. There will also be higher guarding of the main institutions. Preventing fires and consequences from firecrackers is another topic of concern. Police have also increased presence in the border crossing points and control over there, especially the southern area and the Durres port and Mother Teresa international airport. Police phone numbers that any person may use for help or give-and-take information will be set in many places in the cities.
The Italian embassy also reported that those Albanian immigrants who had required to renovate the residence permit could use to travel their request of approval by police for that request.
