TIRANA, March 20 – Police organized Monday a conference on raising public awareness against family violence. Top policeman Bajram Ibraj joined local top authorities in Elbasan. The other topic of interest in the meeting was respect of driving rules. This year there have been a considerable number of victims from the family violence, suicide and especially from those of the road traffic. There have been 54 victims to 38 Compared to the same period last year. Elbasan has been a place of concern for them. There have been three cases in the city. There have also been 36 suicide cases this year, or ten more than a year ago at the same time. In Elbasan there have been five victims. In another effort to impose more rules in the road traffic Ibraj met last week with a senior official of the transport ministry to discuss the steps they should undertake to prevent an increase of the road accidents.
