TIRANA, Oct. 19 – Police said this week they have seized 1.3 tons of cannabis that had been recently harvested near the towns of Kruje and Fushe Kruje.

The Rapid Reaction Police Forces working with the Serious Crimes Prosecutor’s Office led the operation that resulted in the arrests of 11 people, said a police press release.

The large quantity of drugs were found in the warehouse and in a deserted house where the marijuana was being dried for shipping. Varying amounts of weapons and ammunition were also seized.

It is the latest in a series of very large busts following the marijuana harvesting season.
