TIRANA, April 6 – Police reported that they had seized 20 kilograms of TNT explosives and arrested a 25-year-old man in the western port city of Durres.
Fatjon Mexhaj was found with the explosives that was in 19 packages ready to be used.
Police also said that Mexhaj had a previous criminal record and is considered as the main suspect of supplying explosive devices to the alleged contract killer Julian Sinanaj, who was arrested earlier this year.
Mexhaj has denied he had any ties with Sinanaj and is still under investigation.
Explosive devices have been often used in previous months in acts of targeted violence against business owners and others.
