KORCA, Dec. 31 – Police said Sunday that they had found 7.91 kilograms of heroin and had arrested Redian Becoku, 24, from Pirg village in Korca. the suspect if accused of drug international traffic. The drugs were found at the Kapshtice border crossing point after police had secured information beforehand also in collaboration with Greek counterparts. The operation was held Saturday afternoon when they checked a minivan belonging to the suspect. The minivan was coming from Greece and would cross the border point. the drugs were found among the other products that the minivan was transporting. It was hidden in some parts of the heating system and the digital antennas that Becoku was bringing to the country for a company that was based in Drithas village in the same district. Fighting drug trafficking is a main priority for the country along its efforts of integration into the European Union and NATO.
