Polish businessmen invited to invest in Albania

TIRANA, June 7 – Polish businessmen have expressed their interest to invest in Albania, increasing their presence in the country. The initiative was announced at a business forum organized by the Polish embassy in Tirana.
“Albania has great potential to increase economic cooperation with Poland because we were the only countries to register economic growth in 2009 under conditions of a global economic crisis,” said Albanian Economy Minister Dritan Prifti, referring to Albania’s 3 percent GDP growth and Poland’s 2 percent growth in 2009.
Albania’s trade volume with Poland is 40 million euros of which 39 million euros are imports.
Polish authorities and businesses also expressed interest to invest in Albania.
“We have great cooperation opportunities. It was exactly this fact which brought us here and we hope we will have results,” said Polish Economy Minister Rafal Baniak.
Minister Prifti introduced tourism, underground resources, oil gas, hydroelectricity as the as Albania’s greatest potentials for Polish investors.
