President, foreign minister attend OSCE summit

TIRANA, Dec. 2 – President Bamir Topi and Foreign Minister Edmond Haxhinasto took part at the OSCE Summit held Dec. 1-2 in Astana, Kazakhstan. The central Asian country holds the rotating Chairmanship of the OSCE for 2010.
The summit is expected to give an important push forward to the OSCE activities in the future.
The delegation presented a vision for Albania’s future, that of the OSCE, its role in the consolidation of European security, as well as Albania’s contribution for that.
The president and the minister held a series of bilateral meetings with the counterparts and OSCE members focusing on the intensification of bilateral cooperation in the framework of international organizations, as well as on the performance of Albania and Western Balkans in the integration processes to the European Union, including promoting Kosovo’s recognition.
