The President of Albania Ilir Meta accused the Prime Minister Edi Rama for preparing to steal the general election that will be held next year. During the political tv show “Përballë”, hosted by Lutfi Dervishi, President Meta made a list of accusation against Rama: “Today we have a Prime Minister, that is trying voluntarily to block the process of European integration, who violated the agreement of the 5th June voluntarily, who is trying voluntarily to put his hands on the next elections, although he knows very well that this will have fatal consequences in the negotiations, which will be then postponed not only in April 2025, but even further, because this is not his
priority, unfortunately!”
Meta continued his interview by emphasizing the need for a free election, and the need to respect of the Constitution. Only by demonstrating the will to respect these two key elements of a democratic state, free election and the constitution, Albania could have real chances to make the progress it needs, concluded Meta.
