Prison overpopulated, report says

TIRANA, May 12 – Albania’s prison department reports that the population of prisons in the country has surpassed 1,500 persons. Some 5,000 persons are behind bars, most only in detention. However, the capacity of the country’s 13 prisons is only 3,500, according to the prison department.(Tirana Times Staff)
