Probe on claims for illegal import of Italian hospital waste

VLORA, April 10 – Following claims by the “Active Youth” organization on some alleged import of hospital waste from Italy, the Albanian Ministry of Environment said it has sent a group of experts in the southwestern port of Vlora to verify the claims.
The General Directorate of Customs and the Regional Agency for the Environment say that there is no illegal import of waste in Albania.
But fear was high on that as the government has already passed a law allowing such kind of imports.
