TIRANA, Feb. 18 – The first project constructing the 40 kilometer Shkoder-Hani I Hotit road segment has been completed and new work to rebuild an additional segment will begin later this summer, authorities have said.
A ceremony was held last week at the Transport Ministry bringing together Italian embassy officials for the project with the road construction and engineering firm of the Sintagma & SWS company.
Italy plans to invest some 21.7 million euro in the road rehabilitation project which is expected to take 20 months.
When completed, the road will be 10.5 meters wide with divided highways.
