Prosecutors to reopen case against Tirana’s Appeals Court judge

ELBASAN, Feb. 1 – Prosecutors have decided to reopen the case against Gjin Gjoni, a judge in Tirana’s Appeals Court who in 2015 was accused of hiding his wealth and falsifying documents. His spouse, Elona Caushi, is also under investigation, according to several local media reports. The case was first dropped on procedural grounds; however, prosecutors have received new data from Germany and France to back up the claims. “The review of data from justice institutions in Germany warranted the continuation of investigations in regards to the facts mentioned in the penal proceedings,” the head of the Elbasan prosecution office…
