Public funding to build 1,150 apartments for the poor

TIRANA, Feb. 13 – Finance Minister Ridvan Bode signed an agreement Wednesday on a loan that is to be given to eight city halls to build 1,150 apartments for the poorest citizens.
The 15.18 million Euro loan was provided by the Development Bank of the Council of Europe.
The funding will be given to the city halls in Tirana, Durr쳬 Korca, Elbasan, Peshkopi, Berat and Kavaja.
These funds will be managed by the city halls, which speaks of the increasing administrative capacities of local authorities in the country, according to the minister.
The total amount of the project will cost 25.3 million Euros with the participation of 8.92 million from the participating city halls and 1.2 million from the central government.
