Regional activities to promote cooperation

TIRANA, June 7 – the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Secretariat, an institution created by European countries to promote cooperation in southeastern Europe, has scheduled a series of activities this month.
The Constitutive Meeting of RCC Task Force on Culture and Society will be held in Cetinje, Montenegro to mark its formal establishment. It will gather high-level officials from Southeast Europe, and representatives of the Council of Europe and the European Commission. The Task Force on Culture and Society aimed at promoting regional cooperation in the sphere of culture by creating a platform for dialogue of relevant stakeholders.
The Steering Group on Regional Strategy on Justice and Home Affairs, will assess implementation of the Regional Strategic Document 2011-2013 of Justice and Home Affairs and its action plan, as well as review, update and consolidate regional strategic choices, challenges and priorities.
The third Annual Meeting of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) will be held in the Montenegrin town of Becici near Budva, on 28 June 2011. Participants will listen to the organization’s Annual Report on regional cooperation in Southeast Europe 2010-2011 with emphasis on the results achieved in the implementation process of the RCC Strategy and Work Programme 2011-2013.
The 3rd regional conference ‘Industry Energy and Environmental Protection in Southeast Europe’ will gather representatives of responsible ministries, relevant national bodies and agencies, international organizations, energy companies, institutes and universities from the Southeast European region in order to discuss energy policies, legislation and energy efficiency programs, renewable energy sources and technologies to reduce negative environmental impacts of energy activities.
