TIRANA, Dec. 21 – Albania’s largest ferro-chrome producer, AlbChrome, is to be acquired for an undisclosed sum by Turkey’s Yildirim Group, according to the Turkish company.

The Turkish conglomerate plans to complete the acquisition of AlbChrome by the end of January, the president and chief executive officer, Robert Yildirim, told MetalBulletin.com, an international trade publication.

“We will be completing the purchase next month. We’re hoping it will be by mid-January [or] it may be the end of the month,” Yildirim said.

AlbChrome, best known for its large Bulqiza mine, is currently owned by Balfin Group, the parent conglomerate of some of Albania’s largest retail and commercial real estate companies.
