TIRANA, Sep. 21 – The General Department of Roads will be turned into a public entity that will increase its independence, the Ministry of Public Affairs, Transport and Telecommunications reported last weekend.
A draft report on the change was introduced last weekend at a seminar attended by the minister and also senior officials of the World Bank, European Delegation, EBRD, and Italian Cooperation.
The new entity will have a more autonomous character and authorities hope the new agency will be similar to those in European Union countries.
